Marching Band Mobility: A Caster Success Story

For marching bands and casters, mobility and performance are key. Every element of a marching band’s performance is dependant upon coordination, execution, and hours of practice. And when it comes to behind-the-scenes mobility, only a good caster can get the job done.

The Customer: High School Band

We do a lot of work with music groups, marching bands, and other performance groups. So when we had the opportunity to advise a high school band with unique caster needs, Mitch Walker, our caster expert in Richmond, Virginia, came to the rescue.

This group had decorative trees that had to roll seamlessly across hard surfaces indoors, outside on the pavement, and across a natural grass field without sinking or needing a lot of effort to move.

Mitch set them up with some 8” pneumatic wheels and 250lb capacity swivel casters that could easily handle these large props.

Pneumatic Casters in Action

Pneumatic casters are great for this application for several key reasons:

  • Pneumatic casters roll easily on pavement
  • Pneumatic casters don't sink when rolled on grass.

Expert. Easy. Every Time.
