So you picked the perfect wheel, the correct rig for the wheel, but what about the brake? We offer the following brake options that will help keep your application secure when immobilized.
Cam/Side Lever Brakes: engaging the brake pedal (typically a lever on the side of the wheel) moves a cam that tightens the caster’s rig against the wheel. Cam brakes work well for extremely hard wheels such as steel or cast iron.
Top Brakes: engaging the pedal moves the cam and lever until it makes direct contact with the tread of the wheel. Top brakes are ideal for wheels with softer treads like TPR, rubber, and polyurethane.
Tech/Tread Brakes: simply pressing down on the toe pedal engages the brake into a secured position. Tech/Grip brakes function well in wet or corrosive environments for a variety of wheels and rigs.
Face Contact Brakes: as the name references, face contact brakes typically use a toe pedal on the front of the wheel. Engaging the brake makes direct contact with the tread, which allows for a firmer stop and go function. These brakes are ideal for 2” or wider wheels of all sorts.
Total Lock Brake: this brake locks the wheel and swivel simultaneously. With a simple push of the pedal, the caster completely locks into position, creating a stable and secure floor lock in essence.
We offer a broad selection of brakes from only the most reputable manufacturers. Contact us today to find out more about pricing, options, and paring up the perfect brake for your casters.
