Picking the Right Office Chair Casters for You

Stem Selection

Office chair casters tend to use the same mounting configuration: a 7/16” by 7/8” grip ring stem. We call this option a G20 mounting. Want to make sure this is what your chair uses? Flip your office chair over and pull off a caster -- it should come off without much effort. Using a ruler or caliper,  measure the length and diameter of the chair’s stem. If your office chair casters don’t use a7/16” by 7/8” G20 stem, we suggest you check out our twin wheel replacement guide.

Flooring Variables

It is also important to consider the flooring material that the chair will roll over. Different materials are suggested based on the hardness of the floor. If you have a hard floor or want to protect the floor, we recommend a urethane tread such as TWHN-50U-G20-BK or TWUN-75U-G20-BK.
